Crispy Baked Halal Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb halal chicken breast cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs or almond flour for gluten-free
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp cumin or 1/4 tsp cayenne for spice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Set up coating station: one bowl with beaten egg, another with breadcrumbs and spices mixed together.
  • Dip each chicken piece in egg, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumb mixture. Place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • For extra crispiness: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes instead.

Notes

Tips:
  • Double-coat nuggets (egg → crumbs → egg → crumbs) for extra crunch
  • Serve with Greek yogurt dip or halal honey mustard
  • Freeze unbaked nuggets on a tray before transferring to bags for easy storage
