Healthy Halal beef Pepperoni Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g halal-certified lean ground beef 90/10
  • 1 ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp raw honey or pure maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground coriander optional
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp ground fennel seeds optional
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp cold filtered water

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with all spices, vinegar, and water. Mix until fully incorporated and slightly sticky.
  • Form the mixture into a firm log shape. Wrap tightly in parchment paper or use a natural casing if desired.
  • Place on a wire rack set over a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°F (80°C) for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely. Slice thinly once cooled.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
