Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp natural sweetener honey, maple syrup, or a sugar-free alternative
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg optional
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp raisins optional
  • ½ cup rolled oats or gluten-free oats if needed
  • ¼ cup almond flour substitute with oat flour for nut-free
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted, or use light butter for a richer taste
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or your preferred natural sweetener

Instructions

Prep the Apples :

  • Peel and dice 2 medium apples.
  • Toss them with natural sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and raisins.
  • Mix everything together and divide it evenly into small ramekins.

Prepare the Crumble Topping :

  • In a separate bowl, combine: rolled oats, almond flour (or oat flour), chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts), coconut oil (melted) and maple syrup
  • Stir until it forms a crumbly mixture.

Assemble:

  • Sprinkle the topping generously over the apples in each ramekin, covering them completely.

Bake:

  • Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.

Cool and Serve:

  • Let the crumbles cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • For extra indulgence, top with Greek yogurt or a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

    • Use Fresh, Firm Apples: for the best texture and flavor.
    • Adjust Sweetness: Different apple varieties have different sweetness levels. Taste and adjust the sweetener as needed.
    • Avoid Soggy Crumble: Pre-cook the apples for a few minutes or pat them dry to reduce moisture, ensuring the topping stays crispy.
